The Triple Helix Association is glad to re-launch in 2019-2020 its webinar series.
The 2019-2020 webinar Series will maintain its initial purpose to focus on emergent topics in the triple helix interface, with particular attention this year to the operationalization of Triple Helix interactions for regional development.
We hope that our Series will continue enhancing practical discussion within the THA membership community and beyond.

Webinar series Chairs
Prof. Panayiotis KETIKIDIS, Chairman South East European Research Centre and President of the THA Greek Chapter
Professor Panayiotis Ketikidis is the Chairman of the Management Committee and Academic Director of the Doctoral Programme at the South East European Research Centre (SEERC) and the Vice Principal for Research, Innovation and External Relations of the University of Sheffield International Faculty, CITY College. He has over 25 years of experience in management, education, research, and competitive research funding. He has been listed in the Marquis΄s Who΄s Who, Publications Board in Science and Engineering Eleventh Edition. He is also Chief Editor of the International Journal for Innovation and Regional Development (IJIRD). Prof Ketikidis holds a PhD in Systems Science (Health Informatics) from the CITY University, London (UK), an MSc in Computer Science from West Chester University (USA) and a BSc in Business Administration from Cheyney University (USA).
Dr Dimitri Corpakis, is an independent expert, advising organisations, governments and local and regional authorities on innovation, growth and technological change. An engineer and planner by training, he has more than 30 years’ experience on the European integration process. Dimitri (who recently retired from the services of the European Commission following a career of over 26 years in Brussels) has worked in many policy areas including Education and Training, Information and Communication Technologies, Social Sciences and Humanities, and Regional Innovation Ecosystems with an emphasis on interactions and synergies between the Union’s Research and Innovation and Cohesion Policies (European Structural and Investment Funds).
In recent years, Dimitri led DG Research and Innovation’s Unit on the Regional Dimension of Innovation (now called ‘Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation) managing the legacy 7th Framework Programme actions on “Regions of Knowledge” and “Research Potential”, building links with the Union’s Cohesion Policy, with a strong focus on developing Research and Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialisation (RIS3), ensuring the Commission’s link with the Joint Programming Initiative on “Urban Europe” and launching the ground-breaking actions on closing the innovation divide (new Horizon 2020 Part IV on Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation – Teaming, Twinning and ERA Chairs).

Professor Emanuela Todeva joined St Mary’s University in 2017. As a member of the Executive Committee of the Triple Helix Association, her roles include: Chair the Permanent Scientific Committee, leading the Thematic Research Groups (TRGs), and a member of the Future Meetings Committee. She is Founder and Director of the Research Centre for Business Clusters, Networks and Economic Development (BCNED), and a Senior Consultant with the European Commission, OECD, and EuroMaTech (Dubai) – among others. Her interdisciplinary research and training portfolio includes strategic management, international business strategies and foresight, international management skills, global value chain integration and business cluster development, national and regional innovation systems, managing and measuring innovation, knowledge transfer and the implementation of smart specialisation strategies. Emanuela Todeva is committed to interdisciplinary research and supporting the development path for emerging markets through integration in the global knowledge flows. She is a leading figure in the field of: business clusters, business networks, governance of innovation, triple helix intermediation, cooperative strategies, governance of alliances and technology partnerships, multi-stakeholder platforms and regional development.
