SATHA INNOVATION AWARDS

The South Asian Chapter of the THA (SATHA) hosted its first Innovation Awards Ceremony on 3-4 November 2015, at the University of Haripur. Thirty Innovation Awards were presented on the basis of substantial development and commercially viable technologies. All the Universities of the KP Province of Pakistan, the Industrial Sector and Civil Service officers participated in SATHA innovation Awards event.

The next SATHA Innovation Awards Presentation is going to be held in Karachi in first week of February, 2016. Activities regarding the preparation for the upcoming event include; collection of commercially viable indigenous developments, having social and economic impact over society, searching for Innovations and Developments in academia, industry and the Government Sector, arranging for valuable/successful case studies to be shared in the SATHA Innovation Award Ceremony.

This regular activity is going to be conducted four times a year in four provinces of Pakistan. This initiative is highlighting the issue regarding S&T promotion and weakness in Pakistan. SATHA is playing a crucial role in making a way for scientists, industry and the Government sector to work together.

ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION FOR S&T
POLICY

Another initiative taken by SATHA is to organize an Essay Writing Competition for universities all over the Pakistan. This competition is to highlight the issue of S&T policies currently being followed and any weakness in this specific area.

The competition will make the academia sector to focus on S&T policies, write on it and suggest the ways to promote this culture in Pakistan. SATHA will host the competition and reward the best essay (having major issue highlighted with best solution).

LAUNCH OF S&T SEMINAR

SATHA has also planned a seminar on the Role of Media and Society in Building an S&T Led Innovative Country. Various media personal and society gurus will shed light on how society and media can play a role in building up an innovative community.
