TRIPLE/QUADRUPLE HELIX COLLABORATION FOR ADDRESSING SOCIETAL CHALLENGES
On the 15 June 2018, the THA Chapter of Greece participated in a panel on quadruple helix collaboration for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in Lodz, Poland. The panel was organized under the framework of the Training for Energy Efficient Operations (TrainERGY) project (European Union funded) which aims at bridging the quadruple helix stakeholders across Europe in order to jointly develop training materials on making industry more sustainable.
Similarly, on 21 June 2018, THA Greece the OECD Global Forum on Responsible Business Conduct in Paris, France, which featured multi-stakeholder panels of sustainability and digitalization. In both events, the role of the triple/quadruple helix was acclaimed as the key strategy towards solving current societal challenges.
Furthermore, THA Greece is transferring the triple helix know-how into the UK for the EU-Funded project – PROSFET (H2020/Marie Curie RISE). PROSFET aims at proposing a multi-stakeholder framework (quadruple helix) for understanding the possibility of introducing freight-tram concepts in Sheffield (UK), in order to reduce traffic congestion and to mitigate urban pollution. The quadruple helix partnership models and multi-stakeholder associations are deemed to be the starting point/enabler of such a long-term venture.
