Biography

Karen has about 18 years of experience in Human Resources Management in Brazil at companies such as Unilever, Andersen Consulting (Accenture), Chase Manhattan Bank (JP Morgan Chase), Banco Itaú and Grupo VR, developing her career from analyst to Human Resources Director. She has worked in Human Resources consulting at DBM and KLM Consulting for over 15 years, focused on Leadership Development and High-Performance Teams, Change Management and Organizational Culture, Mentoring and Coaching Programs, among others. Adapted and taught Values-based Leadership programs for an industrial company in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Brazil and the United States. Adapted and was the instructor of the Organizational Culture Development Program for a new pharmaceutical company in Argentina, Colombia, Brazil and a global group in the United States. Teaches programs in English, Spanish and Portuguese. She is a doctoral candidate in the Graduate Program at the Institute of Psychology at the University of São Paulo, studying the theme of Triple Helix Leadership in global and complex challenges. She is currently doing a one-year term at Imperial College in London as a visiting researcher. He holds a master’s degree in Social Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), a degree in Psychology from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a post-graduate degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV-SP). She has extensive training and performance in Executive and Career Coaching. Acts as executive professor of the Postgraduate Program in Administration at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV-SP) since 2009 on topics such as Leadership, People Management and Innovation, Skills Development, Negotiation and Communication. She has also been a guest professor at Fundação Dom Cabral since 2010. Since 2016, she has been acting as Director of Human Resources and Leadership for the RCGI - Research Center for Gas Innovation at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo. This Research Center is funded by FAPESP and Shell, develops 46 projects and counts on the participation of about 370 national and international researchers. She also is responsible for research on leadership, public perception, social license to operate and the sustainable development goals (SDG) themes in the centre.
