Airi is a private non-profit association representative of a national network of large companies, SMEs, research organizations, universities, financial institutions and industrial associations.
Founded in 1974, Airi mission is to foster public-private cooperation and to promote Italy-based R&D and Innovation toward the national and international dimension.
The main themes of interest are: industrial innovation, R&I policies and strategies, enabling technologies, sustainable and responsible innovation.
Its activity concerns technology assessment and foresight, analysis of socio-economic impacts, exploitation and technology transfer, multi-stakeholder dialogues, networking and dissemination of research results. Airi has been involved in several EU and national cooperative projects on these themes.
Airi is conducting co-creation and participatory processes involving quadruple helix stakeholders on different enabling technologies. Its currently involved in the project SocKETs – Societal engagement with Key Enabling Technologies (EU H2020 R&I program, GA No. 958277), dealing with co-creation in fields such as circular economy, e-health and industrial automation.
