Following in the footsteps of the two Bristol Conferences in 2008 and 2011 and the Oran conference in 2013, the fourth international COSINUS conference will take place in Bordj-Bou-Arreridj (Algeria) on 23rd – 25th September 2014. COSINUS conference will continue to provide a forum for academics, university/college management personnel, industry practitioners, planners, policy makers and other key stakeholders to discuss issues relating to best practice in knowledge exchange and knowledge sharing, as well as strategies for deepening and broadening the role of the university within the innovation systems.
The organizers welcome papers related to the following suggested not exclusive sub-themes:
Geographical dimensions of innovation;
Localised innovation systems;
Profiles of entrepreneurs and localised innovation systems;
Proximity and innovation systems;
The role of universities in the development of localised learning capabilities;
The role of universities in local economic development;
The role of public policy and the role of government in the formation of new clusters;
The role of universities in the formation of new clusters;
Clustering and technological development; and
Contribution of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to the local production and system of innovation.
The registration fees, hotel and meals will be covered by the conference organisers for all authors whose paper will be accepted. The best papers will be published in special issues and a collective book.
