Crowdfunding is a collaborative process of a group of individuals who jointly use their own money to support the efforts of individuals and organizations. Crowdfunding has favoured the democratization of tools that were once only in the hands of few Venture Capitalists and Business Angels: digitalization has transformed an exclusive product, i.e. the opportunity to invest in new companies (and in unlisted companies in general), into a mass product. Crowdfunding can refer to initiatives of any type: from aid during humanitarian tragedies, to support for art and cultural heritage, citizen journalism, innovative entrepreneurship, scientific research, healthcare and social services.
Video: Alberto Giusti – presentation of the course “Create a successful crowd funding campaign”
The aim of the course is to offer participants an overview of the crowd funding market worldwide and specifically in the Italian context with a focus on current regulations. The process leading to the creation of a crowd funding project aimed at the sale of a new product/service (reward based crowd funding) or the financing of an innovative start-up (equity based crowd funding) will be analysed. Particular attention will be placed on the “practical” aspects of structuring a plan including a web marketing and social media marketing plan.
